The Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center is the largest building (3.1 million square feet) in Washington, DC, and is owned by the U.S. General Services Administration. As the first and only federal building dedicated to both government and private use, the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center has been mandated by Congress to bring together the country’s best public and private resources to create a national forum for the advancement of trade.
I usually go there especially for the big food court at their basement level.
When my boss had me taste *sushi* (with some veggie, which I don't even remember) couple of months ago, I invariably spit it out, because I didn't like the taste. But, today, to my surprise, I was actually dying to taste some vegetarian sushi. In the pic -you can see all 3 kinds: Sushi with cucumber, asparagus and avocado. I think I like avocado the best. What about you?? Any *sushi* fans out there.
I usually don't like sleepovers at somebody else's place. But, when one of my best friends at office suggested the idea of a girls-movie-night-out, I was like... why not. So, we came back from work, got ready, had some cocktails & dinner at this amazing Thai place and finally saw Shrek 4 3D. One of my best night-outs ever! What else would you ask for?
"James Birdseye McPherson (November 14, 1828 – July 22, 1864) was a career United States Army officer who served as a General in the Union Army during the American Civil War. He was killed at the Battle of Atlanta and was the highest ranking Union officer killed during the war..."
this is my favorite brand/flavour of icecream. It tastes so heavenly that words are not enough to express how I feel about it :D.., though 1 serving is about 240 cal. :(. But sometimes, you just need to let go. ;). I had late in the night, around 11:00pm and I couldn't sleep the whole night. Sugar high! I guess.
It is interesting how my life revolves around food and about- "How to cook almost everything"..I really like this iphone app for its easy search feature, huge list of recipes to make & a timer to set embedded into the recipe steps.. Isn't it really handy :D.
Have you ever tried "Grilled Vegetable Salad" in California Pizza Kitchen. Oh my! it is the best and the standard menu for my every visit. A full portion is too much for me so I order for a half (tossed) paired with an appetizer. Ah! a satisfying & a bliss dinner. :D
P.S: Sorry, the pic is not doing justice to the yumminess of this salad, thanks to the dim lighting at CPK. :(
Komala Vilas 1020 East El Camino Real,Sunnyvale, CA 94087
I wanted try some Indian tiffin-fare for dinner tonight, so we ended up at Komala Vilas in Sunnyvale. I ordered the Masala Dosa Thali & Oh man, it was so heavy yet v.v.v yummy! I enjoyed every bit of it though it took almost an hour for me to *finish* the whole thing! :)
I can't express how happy I am today, after meeting my long-time blogger friend DK of Chef In You at her house. She is such a warm and fun-loving person & the day went exactly I envisioned, or should I say - even better.
We went for a walk together yesterday near our apartment from which one can clearly see the San Mateo Bridge. The best part was - the clear blue skies, the sound of the water crashing across the rocks, huge pelicans flying above you and the beautiful flowers that sprang up along the pathway. the sad part was - it was very breezy & eventually became very chilly so we had to return back earlier.
..this is a view from the balcony at our apartment here at CA. Every now & then you see these cute little ducks & ducklings swimming in the lagoon, which makes me think - what if I were a duckling Yeh! :D..
..Religiously, from past 5 years, every time I visit DD I order the same thing - Egg & Cheese sandwich on an everything bagel, Hashbrowns & Sweetened Iced Tea (with very little ice)! I must be bored by now, you think - Nah! Never. :D It is a shame that there are not many on west coast. I wonder how will I survive from next month. Boooo. :(
Nana on a Dolphin: Saint Phalle's robust female figures are called "Nanas". Paired with a sea creature, this Nana reflects universal cultural traditions that link women with nature.
Following my mundane lunch routine, as I was walking towards New York Avenue today I saw these new beautiful, fascinating sculptures, designed by Niki de Saint Phalle. A quick googling and I found out that these are a part of the 'New York Avenue Sculpture Project',an effort to attract attention to the National Museum of Women in the Arts.
If you are Washington DC, then don't forget to take a quick stroll from 13th Street to Mount Vernon Square.
...Yeh! finally I have got a theme to follow for my photo-blogging...so more sculpture pics every Saturday.
Remember my lunch at Chef Geoff's the other day. Asparagus Bisque was the soup I ordered for my lunch. How was it? - very silky & smooth yet not sinfully creamy and I think that last drizzle of olive oil did it for me.
I am dying to re-create this in my kitchen. Do you have any good recipes? Please do share!
