Every cook's dream is to own a Kitchen Aid one day. Here, I saw an indianized version of it at Mads house. ;-). A Black and Decker hand mixer fitted to a mixing bowl. - a very neat and convenient idea indeed!
Surprise Surprise.. Look what Mads has given me today, as a birthday gift. :-). Have been trying to get a copy for a really long time. Along with this, I also got a round, white plate - a perfect prop for all my risottos, soups and curries. Yeh!
If you are in Bangalore, then you got to visit Au Bon Pain and order for "Fried Egg with Pesto on a croissant". I bet, you cannot stop with just one. The egg gives a good bite to the sandwich and the pesto adds the zing. Croissant ofcourse is a buttery delight. What not to love for. :-)
There are some tiny, little quirks in my life. Brushing with Closeup toothpaste every single morning is one of them. You wouldn't believe how particular I am about this. Once when I was back in US, none of the VA Indian shops had stocked closeup for weeks together, so I pestered all my friends who were travelling to NJ, NY and even Chicago to search the local shops. ;-)...
At times I feel, how would my transition from US to Bangalore would be, if I didn't have good friends like Mads. Very different and boring, that I can say for sure. She got me these beautiful flowers as a pre-birthday-bash. Thanks babes, and hugs to you.
Couple of days ago, we went to Barbeque Nation in J P Nagar for our team-lunch. I heard a lot about this restaurant from my colleagues and friends & was really looking forward to it.
The USP of the restaurant is definitely the "live barbegue right at your table" with unlimited, sizzling starters on skewers - grilled pineapple, grilled button mushrooms, assorted vegetables, marinated paneer cubes and cajun baby potatoes. My personal favorite of all (like many others) is the Cajun Baby Potatoes, which tasted absolutely delicious with crunchy potatoes dunked in cool yogurt sauce . Once, the starters were done, we moved on to the buffet, which according to me was mediocre, like a zillion others out there. The vegetarian options were - Mixed Vegetable curry (dripping in oil), Nargisi Kofte (the kofte were a little hard), noodles & manchurian gravy (which tasted ok), Biryani, Rice and Dal. Desserts were decent with gulab jamun, ice cream, custard tarts, phirni in tiny clay pots and 2-3 kinds of colored pastries. I would highly recommend to give this a try just for their awesome starters and desserts. The weekday buffet cost was ~ 500 INR with taxes.
In a month's time, my little sister will be getting married. Wow, it feels like yesterday, that she was born with her tiny brown eyes & super-chubby cheeks....fast forward.. we both, going to school together and then many years later, me visiting her hostel in Goa to see how this kid is living all by herself, far away from home. Everything seems like a dream now and I don't want to wake up.
I couldn't be a part of my marriage preparations, as we were in US then, So I am making sure that I be right there with my family and know whats happening back home every single day.
Love you babes and Wishing you many many happy times ahead. :-)
One evening I come back from work and see this doll on our TV shelf. My in-laws got it for us during their usual evening walks. Isn't it beautiful. Little push and it dances too. Somehow this reminds me of this song, everytime I look at it. :-)
Phew! I am finally done with my A-Z Alphabets-photo-blogging. It feels like I have got my freedom back, from tomorrow. Trust me it is not as simple as it seems to be. If you are planning to do the theme, I recommend a good amount of planning about what you would post for each alphabet. That will make your life a litter less complicated and avoid unnecessary jitters like I had for some of them!
