Today is third and final day of Sankranthi festival and it is celebrated as Kanuma. Its the day when the farmers thank the cows, bulls and other animals who helped for their crop harvest. Ideally the animals are decorated with marigold flowers on this day, but since we don't own any cattle, I used the flowers to decorate our house. :-)
One thing is for sure - growing your own food gives us an immense pleasure which is pretty hard to put in words. Mere a month ago, these were just tiny little seeds and now spinach shoots. Once they pop up a little, the first thing I am gonna make is a simple spinach dal! Yay!
..this is an old photograph, taken almost 2 months ago and I still remember how much effort it took on our part to make my mom smile as the stress we, as a family were going through was just unimaginable. Whenever I am low, one look at it gives strength and makes me think ~ Tomorrow is going to be better than today and this too shall pass. :-)
Looking at flowers early in the morning makes me really really happy. These morning glory flowers are from our roof top garden that me and Srini are currently working on, one-plant-a-day!. Aren't they just beautiful and soothing to look at. :-)
