Wherever I go, am seeing tons and tons of watermelons these days. Not that I am complaining about it as I absolutely love this fruit. Looks like summer is nearing with the temperatures too are soaring day by day. Now, the only thing left to officially welcome summer is a juicy mango!.Yay!
..at what happened today in my beloved city. Dilsukhnagar is an area I have grown up in. That's where I used to go to my coaching classes, watch cinemas, go for shopping, eat panipuri. That's where till date my Father In Law teaches in a MBA college (nearby the first bomb blast site) and that's where my cousin goes to her college. When the news broke that there had been two bomb blasts over there, I just couldn't believe my ears. Like everyone else I was in a denial mode and my first thought was - it must have been a gas cylinder. When it finally sinked in, tears just welled for the innocent people who were killed and injured in the terrifying accident.
It could have been me. It could have been you.
Here is a story the saddest of all. Abdul Wasif Mirza, who lost his left leg during 2007 Mecca Masjid blast was there selling T-shirts on the pavement where the incident happened today. It took him almost an year to get back to normal the first time around and now he has serious injuries on his back & other leg.
Does terror have any religion or colour? No, its main aim is to create panic and chaos in the hearts of people.
Sorry to disappoint you Mr.Terror. We, Hyderabadis are much stronger than you think we are. We might be suffering now, but you will never scare us. We are here to stay and face all odds, together. You better just run away with your tail between legs.
May God give peace to the people who were killed & injured and lots of strength to their families. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers today.
This picture is from my mom's place and today being a weekend I came here to cook and spend some time with her. I love the fact that over the years she has been less a mother and more a friend with whom I can share anything and everything.
When I am of her age, I want to be like her. :-) Love you Amma.
..a photograph from our Goa trip last year. We took our chances and went in off season, during monsoons and Goa was literally empty! It was lush green everywhere with occasional showers every now and then. Beautiful, nevertheless. :-)
After a week long official trip to Bangalore, I am starting off to Hyderabad today. I feel sad that am leaving so soon and just can't wait to get back again. But, am also happy that I will get to see my family whom I was missing terribly since past few days. - a bag of mixed emotions as I get on the bus. :-)
